We are “Innovative Robot Delivery” — a start-up founded by the inventors of the DHL Packstation locker system. We want to revolutionize delivery logistics a second time, with mobile parcel lockers and end-to-end last-mile automation: for greater efficiency, lower costs, but above all for less road congestion, packaging waste and a much lower carbon footprint.

That's why we need you: a committed Mechanical Engineer (m/f/d). With a high degree of independence, you will manage the development and implementation of our Smarcel mobile locker product and integrate it seamlessly into our overall solution. Your areas of responsibility include

• Module and prototype optimization
You will carry out and document tests to improve the mechatronics and the reliability of our mechatronic mobile parcel locker modules, including optimization based on customer feedback and documented functional tests.

• Preparation of a small series of mobile lockers
You will prepare specifications, carry out negotiations with potential manufacturing partners,  select  them and establish a set-up for coordination.

• Small-series production
You will supervise the production of the small series , including initial validation and acceptance.

• Supplier management
You will select and efficiently coordinate our suppliers for the mobile locker.

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following core capabilities

Enthusiasm for innovation and creativity, paired with strategic thinking and the ability to translate technology solutions into concrete plans. As a mechanical engineer with a passion for innovation and a talent for creative and strategic thinking, you are well qualified to translate technology solutions into effective action plans. Your profound experience in automation technology and robotics, complemented by excellent organizational and negotiation skills, make you a “front-runner” for this role. It is essential that you can work effectively with various stakeholders.

You have already successfully managed products from concept to market launch and have thus made a significant contribution to the success of your company. As a driving force, you will not only play a significant role in shaping our automation strategy, but will also communicate our company's mission both internally and externally. You act as a link between subcontractors and the CTO and thus ensure that our developments are in line with corporate goals.
